My writings: Poetry: The man who didn't want to be loved

There is a man
a most peculiar man
who doesn't want to be loved.
He thinks that he wants
but actually, he doesn't.
He wants to confirm
that his oddness is too much,
too much for anyone to accept.

His peculiarities are not few
and not even special
as a book about illnesses
he gathers them as gold
gold worth more than life
than love.

This peculiar man
sits in front of you
and asks you
with a sorrow in his voice
Why am I alone?
and you being an honorable man
who knows the difference
between a lie and
a socially acceptable untruth
answers him:
- You are among friends.
