A promise
to reconcile with
all the things that didn't work out.
A promise
to remember all the things
that did work out.
A promise
to celebrate all the things
that ended up much better
then I thought.
A promise
to remember that my life is a gift
and that I will try
to cherish every new day
of the new year
even when things aren't
the way I want them to be
because there is forgiveness
and there is a tomorrow
and it's never too late to change.
